Support Groups for SKI Parents
As our organization was founded by two women with personal experiences raising special needs children, we truly understand the emotional and physical implications of being a parent of a disabled child.
SKI in Public Schools (SIPS) is a group run by parents for parents that exists for this very reason. This is an opportunity for parents to vent their frustrations, cry on the shoulders of a supportive friend and obtain current information about upcoming events with SKI and other community organizations. Childcare and refreshments are provided.
This special needs parents support group is currently meeting at our new office (2600 South Loop West, Suite 340 Houston, TX) on the second Tuesday of each month from 7:30 to 8:30pm. This group will began a pilot program in area schools in 2007.
Please contact us if you are interested in joining this group! We would love to help you connect with other parents and family members to give you the support and extra information you need.
